WHY VOTE?
So, there's an election coming up...
On October 24th municipal elections across Ontario will be held, including here in Billings Township.
What's the big deal?
As a resident of Billings, you have a say in shaping the future of our community, and one of the really meaningful ways to do that is by casting your vote.
Your municipality provides the day-to-day services that are so important to all of us, such as fire and police services, recreational facilities and programs, recycling, road maintenance and repairs, water treatment, parks and the public library. In addition to local municipal elections, you can also vote for a school trustee, allowing you to influence the quality and future of our local schools. It is all of our responsibility to learn who in our community best represents our position on the issues that mean the most to us.
Take time to familiarize yourself with the candidates and the issues. Come out to 'Meet the Candidates' events that will be organized in the lead up to the election. Read about the candidate in the Manitoulin Expositor's election coverage.
Let's make it a priority to become informed and to make a difference by voting on October 24th.
