To vote you must be 18 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen and qualify for voting your municipality.How do I quality in to vote in my municipality?
You may be a resident voter, that is, someone who resides in an owned or rented property in your municipality.
You may be a non-resident voter, that is, someone who owns or rents property in the municipality.
You may be a non-resident spouse of someone
who owns or rents property in the municipality.
If you meet any one of the qualifications
above, you can vote.
**Some people can vote more than once during municipal elections. You can vote once in the municipality in which you live and once in a different municipality in which you may own/rent property.
How do I find out if I’m a registered voter?
The Municipal Property Assessment
Corporation is responsible for identifying all potential municipal voters. To check and see if you are on the municipal
voters’ list, go to www.voterlookup.ca
. You can enter your name and address to
find out if you are on the voter list (your township is Billings). You can also change your address if you have
moved here since the last election.
Checking out your voting status online is
pretty convenient. The cut-off date for
checking online is September 1, 2022.
After that date, you can go to your township municipal clerk and process
your registration at the municipal office.
